Just Say Yes: Toilet Bowl's Felicitation to Drugs

tommyROCK's first official attempt at production following the gag-rap demos of the late nineties was this compilation dedicated to mocking the American drug war. It featured the first version of "Smoking Weed" which really was the song that spawned the idea for the compilation. It began with a room full of degerates calling random extensions at a college campus (which will go unnamed to protect its reputation..... ok, Wheeling Jesuit, muhaHAHAHA!!!!) and singing an operetic 'Smoking Weed' chorus to the "ska" melody pre-programmed into a Yamaha keyboard (the same model used for the classic "Wish It Was Xmas Today" song on SNL).

After marvelling over a sloppy recording of "Smoking Weed," tommyROCK and his buds (pun intended) quickly jumped on the idea of making a whole CD out of this. About a dozen fellow student musicians, singers, and people not claiming to have any talent lent their voices, writing, and instrumental abilities to help crank out an additional 8 tracks, each centered around a different drug. Memorable tracks include Post's classic rednecky rocker "Drunk Again" & the obnoxious "PCP Bayayaya" led by Andy Schumacher. Honorable mentions also include the first version of "I Want Crack" by tommyROCK and the Toilet Bowl Family and Dave Danicic's psychedelic rock-chanter "LSD."

This compilation also marked the beginning of Toilet Bowl Records, which was basically just a name and concept to identify tommyROCK productions.

This CD is obviously no longer in print and probably never will be again, so if you have a copy, lucky you. It was not up to any kind of recording standards (or talent standards) and was made by layering live cassette-tape tracks with no ability to edit after the fact.

So...get 'em while you can, select tracks newly remastered for download in high quality mp3s (not that the source material is high quality).
